IN THE WEATHER

A bright sun rises over Munjoy Hill this morning, heralding a perfect sunny Maine day. The dew points are a little higher than yesterday, but not by much. Which means a bit more humidity than yesterday. But not by much. Temperatures in the mid 80s. An SPF 40 day for sure...unless you're trying to get a tan. You won't have to work too hard for it today.
ON THE ROAD:
• FRANKLIN ARTERIAL OUTBOUND: Under reconstruction starting today. From today until Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (weather permitting), outbound traffic lanes of Franklin Arterial will be reduced to one lane. There will be obvious delays, ESPECIALLY during the evening commute. Certainly, consider other routes if you are trying to get to I-295 from downtown Portland.
ON THE OCEAN:

High tide in Portland will be at 10:56 a.m. and will be again at 10:55 p.m. Low tide was at 4:45 a.m. and will be again at 4:40 p.m.

THE NEWEST NEWS:
STATEWIDE-- A big change is taking place today among the Irving Oil convenience stores around Maine, but you probably won't even notice the difference.
As of midnight, all of Maine's Blue Canoe, Maineway and Big Stop convenience stores went under new management with a deal leasing 252 of the stores to Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. of Laval, Quebec.
Irving will continue to supply petroleum products to the sites, and the fuel pumps and canopies will remain Irving-branded. The stores, though, will operate under Couche-Tard's Circle K brand.
The change will mean some layoffs, said lars Trodson, spokesman for Irving.
"But 97 percent of people are retaining their jobs," he said.
Otherwise, there won't be much noticeable difference in and among the stores, he said. The current promotions, most importantly the gas-discount program Irving has with Shaw's Supermarkets and Dunkin' Donuts, will not be affected.

Both were taken to Maine Medical Center, where Mr. Mosher was pronounced dead. Mrs. Mosher received a head injury.

SANFORD (AP) –– A 25-year-old North Waterboro woman charged with hitting a motorcyclist with her car and driving away has a long history of motor vehicle violations.

According to the Journal Tribune of Biddeford, Gignac has had her license suspended seven times and was arrested in May for drunken driving. She has been convicted three times for operating under suspension, once for driving to endanger and once for driving while being an habitual offender.
Sanford police say Gignac last month was charged with theft for allegedly trying to steal beer from a convenience store.

PORTLAND –– A man from Mexico will spend eight months in prison for entering the U.S. illegally after having been previously removed as an illegal alien.
Federal prosecutors say 32-year-old Robert Gonzalez-Leal was arrested last November while residing at a homeless shelter in Rumford.
Customs records showed that he had been removed from the U.S. at El Paso, Texas, earlier in the year and hadn't gotten permission to re-enter the country.
He was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland.
