Maine and 42 other states have reached a settlement with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and its subsidiary Apothecon, Inc. according to Maine Attorney General Steve Rowe.
The companies were found to have engaged in illegal conduct in Medicaid drug marketing including overstating the price of drugs, inflating sales figures, promoting drugs for uses that were not approved and paying doctors to prescribe drugs.
The total settlement is $389 million of which Maine will receive $829,862.
