Waterville Senior High School track and field star Dominik Alexis won the young men's decathlon at the Region 1 Junior Olympics this weekend at Icahn Stadium in Randall's Island, N.Y.

Alexis scored 5,722 points to earn the 10-event competition (100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400, 100-hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, 1,500). Andrew Reigstad finished second with 5,355.
