BUXTON -- Police arrested one man in connection with a burglary at an abandoned farm house early this morning. Authorities are continuing to look for two other suspects.
Jason Merrifield, 22, of Buxton, was charged with burglary. The other two suspects were not located in the farm house.
The incident happened about 12:20 a.m. today. Buxton police officer Mike Grovo was doing security checks when he observed a "suspicious" pick up truck backed up to the entryway between the attached barn and the house, according to authorities. Grovo investigated and determined that unknown males were taking metal in all forms from the vacant house.
He requested a K-9 unit from the South Portland Police Department, who did a search of the farm house and found Merrifield on the first floor.
No other suspects were located at the farm house.
