State Troopers have been busy in the past week with several drug arrests, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a release Thursday.
A man was stopped for speeding along Route 26 in West Paris and a search of his car turned up 10 grams of cocaine and $5,200.
John Dunroe, 45, of Holden faces a number of charges, including speeding 90 mph in a 55 mph zone, violating bail and trafficking in cocaine.
Another trooper stopped a car in Auburn for an expired inspection sticker and found marijuana and $5,500 in the car.
Another vehicle was stopped in Greene after the driver was spotted not wearing his seat belt.
Police found a spoon and in a syringe in the car.
A car was stopped on Route 9 in Chelsea and troopers found an assortment of prescription drugs inside, along with cocaine and marijuana.
Troopers also stopped a car on the Maine Turnpike after being alerted by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents.
A search found a quarter pound of crack cocaine in the trunk.
Drug agents and the Waldo Sheriff's Department arrested 41-year-old Richard Kennard of Prospect on marijuana charges.
Kennard's home was searched last month and 200 marijuana plants were found growing inside.
Kennard was not at home at the time of the raid and agents had been looking for him so he could be charged with trafficking and cultivation of marijuana.
MDEA Director Roy McKinney reports that his agents made 360 drug arrests during the first six months of the year.
McKinney said 130 of those arrests involve cocaine and crack, and another 129 arrests were for prescription drugs.
