UMaine-Farmington names Wagner new women's cross country coach

FARMINGTON -- Ryan Wagner will be the new head coach of the successful women's cross country team at UMaine-Farmington, the school announced Thursday.

The Beavers have won three North Atlantic Conference championships in the past four years. Wagner replaces Katie Herbine, who took a non-coaching position at UMaine-Orono.

In additon to coaching cross country, Wagner will also be coordinator of the First Year Collegiate Physical Fitness Programs at UMF. Wagner, who ran cross country at Syracuse University, was a volunteer coach at East Stroudsburg University for two seasons and coached the boys cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field teams from 2005-08.
