Fairfield has new economic planner

By Larry Grard July 18, 2008 12:49 PM

FAIRFIELD - Joshua Reny, a 1999 Lawrence High School graduate, started his new job as the town's economic and community development planner on Monday.

Reny is the third person to hold the position this year. Lisa McLaughlin and Rosie Bradley both resigned from the job, and Town Manager Paul Blanchette chose Reny, who holds a master's degree in public policy and management.

"I'm really excited to be working in the town," said Reny, a member of the Air National Guard who served for two months in Iraw in 2004. "I'm really passionate about Fairfield and about the state of Maine."

In 2005 and 2006, Reny worked at the Maine International Trade Center in Portland, helping state businesses export their products. He accompanied Gov. John Baldacci in a trade mission to France in 2005.
