Westbrook police say that Justino Serrano was out on bail on a burglary charge when officers found items stolen from cars this morning during a routine bail check at his residence. The car burglaries hadn't even been reported to police yet.

Serrano, 38, of Brown Street, is now charged with receiving stolen property and violating bail. Police say when they checked on Serrano they found small personal electronic items, a global positioning system device and a tire gauge. The items had been taken from cars on Main, Mason, Oak and State streets.

Police are still trying to recover tools, golf clubs and other items taken.
