JEFFERSON -- A Rockport man was taken to a Lewiston hospital Saturday after the motorcycle he was riding struck a pickup truck on Route 17.
Kenneth Morton, 68, was taken by a LifeFlight of Maine helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center with broken bones and chest injuries, said Maj. Ken Mason of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department.
Mason had been discharged by Monday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.
A 14-year-old passenger on Morton's Honda motorcycle -- her name was withheld due to her age -- and the driver of the pickup, Melissa Rideout, 28, of Washington, were not injured.
Morton and his passenger were both wearing helmets, Mason said.
An passenger in Rideout's truck, whom Mason could not identify, was not hurt.
The crash occurred a little before 11 a.m., when Rideout went to turn into Peaslee's Quick Stop and turned in front of Morton's westbound motorcycle, Mason said.
Morton was unable to stop in time and his motorcycle struck the passenger's side of Rideout's pickup.
Mason said neither speed nor alcohol was a factor in the crash. He was unsure if there were any criminal charges.
