Police in Somerset County busy with trees down, burglaries and mischief

Driving rains and powerful winds knocked down trees and utility wires when a storm blew through the Skowhegan area Thursday afternoon and evening.

Trees were reported down on Route 2 near the Great Eddy of the Kennebec River in Skowhegan and on the Russell Road in Madison.

Trees also were reported down on the Jackman Road in Rockwood, on U.S. Route 201 in Caratunk, as well as in Anson, West Forks, Solon, New Portland and at two locations on Madawaska Road in Pittsfield.

IN ANSON, Thursday at 10:13 a.m., a harassment complaint was taken from River Road.

IN HARTLAND, Thursday at 8:02 a.m., two reports of criminal mischief were taken from Ford Hill Road.

IN MADISON, Thursday at 9:42 p.m., a report of trespass was investigated on Heald Street.

6:09 p.m., criminal mischief was reported on Lakewood Road.

2:19 a.m., suspicious activity was reported at Madison High School.

IN MOSCOW, Thursday at 1:50 p.m., a sheriff's deputy investigated a report of shots fire on Cassidy Road.

IN NORRIDGEWOCK, Thursday at 10:26 a.m., a theft report was investigated on Waterville Road.

IN PALMYRA, Thursday at 11 a.m., vandalism was investigated on Estes Avenue.

IN PITTSFIELD, Thursday at 8:40 p.m., criminal mischief was investigated on Central Street.

IN SKOWHEGAN, Thursday at 11:09 p.m., a theft was reported at Tim Horton's on Madison Avenue.

10:05 p.m., a report of threatening was taken from Mount Pleasant Avenue.

4:25 p.m., a theft report was investigated at Rent-A-Center on Main Street.

1:20 p.m., criminal mischief was reported at the Hannaford's supermarket.

10:36 a.m., motor vehicle burglaries were investigated on Summer Street and Spring Street.

7:11 a.m., a burglary was investigated on Bigelow Hill Road.

6:54 a.m., a theft was reported on Dr. Mann Road.

IN SOLON, Thursday at 10:06 a.m., a theft report was investigated on Ironbound Pond Road.
