A Portland couple are in court today, charged with endangering the welfare of children and possession of drugs.

Pedro Figueroa, 38, and Yoselin Gomez, 25, of 116 Grant St., were arrested Friday. Police, investigating a report of a missing teenager, found evidence of crack cocaine as well as broken glass on the floor, feces tracked through the house, an overflowed toilet and either feces or vomit in the bathtub, police said.

The apartment also had no electricity, police said.

Inside, police found three children, ages 10, one and nine months.

The adults were taken to Cumberland County Jail, where Gomez also is being held for violation of bail conditions. The Department of Human Services was called to investigate and care for the children.
