Temple artist brings clay-play to Blueberrry Fest

By Betty Jespersen July 29, 2008 09:47 AM

WILTON - Temple artist Jeanne Bruce will lead a community clay exploration project at the Foothills Arts Center on Friday, August 1, as part of the Wilton Blueberry Festival. People of all ages are invited to stop in any time from 1 to 4 p.m. to extend, push, pull, and shape a hill of clay and discover what it can become.

"This is an invitation to play and is truly an ageless event. As each group leaves, their creation will be returned to the hill of clay for others to experience," Bruce said.

The Play with Clay event is free; however, donations would be appreciated to support the Foothills Arts Center's new programs for adults and children. The Foothills Arts Center, founded by and for the Western Maine community in 1989, recently opened the region's community arts center in the Bass-Wilson Building in downtown Wilton, near the Wilson Lake Boat Access.
