WELLS - The Maine Office of Securities will give a presentation on avoiding financial scams Aug. 11.

The one-hour talk is called "Financial Scams: Get the Facts to Keep Your Finances and Investments Safe."

The event is sponsored by the Wells Police Department. It will be held at the Wells-Ogunquit Center at Moody at 300 Post Road. The presentation begins at 1 p.m.
