WEST PARIS -- Two men found dead in West Paris were victims of a homicide, police said this afternoon.

The state Medical Examiner's Office says both men died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

The body of Timothy Mayberry, 50, was found Saturday along a stone wall near his home on Tuelltown Road. The body of Todd Smith, 43, was found inside Mayberry's house late Saturday afternoon. The two were friends.

The medical examiner conducted the autopsies on Monday. No arrests have been made, and detectives have declined to offer any explanation of what might have happened.
