AUGUSTA -- A committee charged with selecting a new Hodgkins Middle School principal has identified a finalist for the post.

Kathryn Hollicker, currently the assistant principal of Augusta's Farrington Elementary School, met with parents and staff members at a community meeting Wednesday night.

The Augusta Board of Education is likely to make an official appointment on Aug. 13, Superintendent Cornelia Brown said.

Jeff Boston announced this spring he would step down as Hodgkins' principal. He accepted a position as principal of the Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta, which serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade.
