FORMER NEW JERSEY GOV. CHRISTINE TODD WHITMAN will be in Maine today, campaigning for Republican congressional nominee Charlie Summers.

Whitman is the former head of the Environmental Protection Agency. She will address a fundraising breakfast at 7:45 a.m. and then will join Summers on campaign stops at D & G Machine Products and Accessories Unlimited, Inc., both in Westbrook.

Summers is challenging Democrat Chellie Pingree for the 1st District seat being vacated by Democrat Tom Allen.
