AUGUSTA -- Gov.John Baldacci will join representatives from the Maine Forest Service at 2 p.m. today at A.W. Allen's Firewood, 160 Maple St., Farmingdale, to offer tips and information to homeowners planning on purchasing and burning firewood this winter.

The gathering occurs after an 11 a.m. presentation at the state house, where the governor will present State of Maine Silver Star Honorable Service Medals to Purple Heart recipients and former prisoners of war.
