Waterville Arts Fest winners announced

WATERVILLE $The Waterville Main Street Program's executive director, Shannon Haines, has announced winners in the 39th Annual Waterville Intown Arts Fest held July 19 downtown.

Organized by Waterville Main Street, the event featured nearly 80 artists displaying and selling their work along Main Street, Haines said.

Thousands of dollars in prizes were awarded to the following individuals from across the state and beyond:

Best of Show, Tim Gaydos of Lubec; Morning Sentinel Award, S. L. Gaydos, West Gardiner; Harry Faust Memorial Award, for photography, Elizabeth Geller, Waterville; Marilyn Dwelley Award for Best Acrylic Landscape, Christine Sullivan, Gardiner; WatervilleArea Art Society Special Merit Award, Erika Maheu, Waterville.

Oils/Acrylic: First Place, Kevin James, Smithfield; Second Place, Judith Rader, Deer Isle; Third Place, Laurie Proctor, Fairfield.

Watercolor: First Place, Milton Christianson, Wellington; Second Place: Terry O'Maley, Troy; Third Place, Kiri Guyaz , Oakland.

Pastels: First Place, Kathleen R. Perelka, Canaan; Second Place, Stephen Linde, East Granby, Conn.; Third Place, Claire Robichaud, Auburn.

Other Media (Graphics, Drawings, Mixed Media): First Place, Jo L. Goiran, Topsham; Second Place, Erika Maheu, Waterville; Third Place, J. P. Strode, Waterville.

Special Merit: Kim Thorpe (Waterville Social Club), Waterville; Laurie Proctor, Fairfield.
