CUMBERLAND $ Pittston's Ryan Gay successfully defended his title at the Maine Junior Golf Championship at rain-soaked Val Hall on Thursday.
Gay defeated Tim Millett 6&5 to win the 15-17 age division for the second year in a row. Madison's Seth Sweet won the 13-14 division with a 4&3 victory over Joe Walp while Alexa Rancourt of South Portland defeated Kate Merrill 5&4 for the Senior Girls title.
Gay and Rancourt, both 17, each won Maine Amateur titles this summer.
