FAIRFIELD - School Administrative District 49 directors on Thursday night hired Lenora Murray of Vassalboro as assistant superintendent.

Murray, last served as curriculum director at Winslow-based School Union 52, has more than 25 years' experience as an educator. The Madison High School graduate has been a superintendent and principal at are schools.

Superintendent Dean Baker said Friday that the SAD 49 board negotiated a $92,500 salary for Murray.

"I'm very happy to be going to SAD 49," Murray said. "They're doing some good things there, and I feel I can contribute."
