NORTH HAVEN -- A Palmyra man is in police custody tonight after being charged with murdering his brother at a home on North Haven.

Maine State Police investigators said they arrested Enoch Petrucully, 23, of Main Street in Palmyra and charged him with murder after authorities were called to a home at 353 Crabtree Point Road on the island community.

Lt. Gary Wright identified the victim as Michael Petrucully, 24, of Palmyra. The brothers lived together in Palmyra. They were visiting an acquaintance's home on the island, but Wright would not go into details regarding how the older brother's death occurred.

"We can't release a cause yet, not until the medical examiner has had a chance to examine the body," Wright said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday. Petrucully is expected to appear in Rockland Superior Court on Monday or Tuesday.

The Knox County Sheriff's Department received a 911 emergency call at 5:42 a.m. today, notifying them that there was an unresponsive male at the Crabtree Point address.

Deputy Ron Potter, who is stationed on the island, secured the scene by the time state police investigators arrived.

North Haven, which is located on Penobscot Bay, is only accessible boat. A state ferry based in Rockland transported the homicide investigation team, which Wright said plans to return Monday to interview residents.

Wright said there are witnesses, but refused to say what type of weapon might have been used.

Wright said he was not certain who owns the house where Petrucully's body was found.
