SACO -- Police said a Biddeford man whose body was pulled from the Saco River this morning "had been in contact with law enforcement" in recent days and had indicated he wanted to commit suicide.

Saco police Detective Sgt. David Loranger said the body was sent to the state Medical Examiner's office to determine a cause of death.

The body was spotted about 9 a.m. by a boater who was in the river off the end of Glenhaven Circle, a residential street off Route 9. Police believe the body may have been in the water for several days.
