Tickets for Portland's first big foodie festival go on sale today.
"Harvest on the Harbor" will be held Oct. 23-25 at the Ocean Gateway terminal and in various southern Maine restaurants. Festival goers will be able to sample the cuisine of award-winning chefs, watch the taping of a TV cooking show, meet cookbook authors, watch cooking demonstrations, and participate in dozens of activites centered around food and wine.
The festival was organized by the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Portland and is modeled after the popular Nantucket Wine Festival.
The weekend will end with a gala dinner at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth featuring Chef Sam Hayward of Fore Street in Portland, Chef David Pasternak of New York's renowned seafood restaurant Esca, and the inn's executive chef, Mitchell Kaldrovich.
Tickets to many of the events are being sold a la carte, with prices ranging from $25 to $65. The gala dinner costs $150.
Want the whole enchilada? It will cost you $350 for a weekend pass.
