John Hickson of Topsham was steady from start to finish in the final round and captured the Charlie's Maine Open with a final round 73 Friday at Fox Ridge Golf Course.
Hickson, a 44, a long-time Maine pro, finished 54 holes at 6-under 210. He won by two shots over Rich Parker of Lebanon, N.H.
Shawn Warren of Windham was tied with Hickson at the start of the final round, but the 23-year old pro bogeyed the first four holes shot a 77 to finish tied for third, four shots behind.
It was Hickson's first Maine Open title. He has won several other New England tournaments.
