A public hearing will be held Tuesday night on a proposed $46.2 million bond that would authorize construction of a new elementary school in Falmouth.
The Falmouth Town Council will hold the hearing before setting the date for a special vote on the school bond.
The proposal calls for the state to fund $40 million with the town expected to contribute $6 million toward the 900-pupil kindergarten through grade five school.
William Armitage, council chairman, said the special vote will take place Oct. 7. The new school, if approved, would be constructed on Woodville Road, near Falmouth's elementary and middle schools.
Tuesday's hearing will begin at 7 p.m. in the town hall on Falmouth Road.
