BRUNSWICK -- A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. today for former Durham Fire Chief Donald R. Brown, who died Thursday at age 62.

A funeral procession will make its way down Federal Street in Brunswick and end at Brackett Funeral Home.

Brown was fire chief for Durham's fire department from 1973 to 1993. According to his obituary, he joined the department when he was 15 years old, and served until his retirement. Most recently, he worked for Bowdoin College, serving as mechanical supervisor.
