PORTLAND $ Portland Sea Dogs first baseman/designated hitter Lars Anderson has been named the Bank of America Eastern League Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 11-17. The selection was made by Major League Baseball Advanced Media.

Anderson hit .476 (10 for 21) for the week with two home runs and six RBIs. He also scored nine runs. He has reached base safely in 18 consecutive games.

The Portland Sea Dogs also announced today that individual game playoff tickets will go on sale to the public on Tuesday. They are available at the ticket office or over the at by calling 879-9500. The Eastern League playoffs are set to begin on Sept. 3. The top two teams in each division (Northern and Southern) will play each other in the best of five series. Portland is currently second in the Northern Division, three games ahead of the Binghamton Mets.
