MIDDLETOWN, R.I. $ The Maine team, which included Pittston native Ryan Gay, North Anson native Shawn Keenan and Madison's Zack Sweet, finished fourth at the New England Junior Invitational Championships on Tuesday.
Connecticut won the event with a score of 1,085, 35 shots over par for 15 scores. Vermont was second with 1,098, while Massachusetts had 1,100 and Maine was fourth with 1,107. New Hampshire was fifth at 1,109 and Rhode Island sixth with 1,125.
Gay was the second best scorer on the Maine team, finished with a three-round scored of 221 (68-78-75). Jason Harris shot three 73s to finish at 219 for Maine. Keenan finished the tournament at 232 and Sweet at 236.
