MIAMI -- The Maine man accused in Florida of threatening to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is set to enter a plea in federal court.
Arraignment is scheduled today for 22-year-old Raymond Hunter Geisel in Miami. The Secret Service arrested Geisel earlier this month after he was allegedly overheard threatening Obama by students at a training course for bail bondsmen. Geisel, who once lived in Hampden, is being held without bail. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted of the charge.
Authorities discovered numerous weapons, ammunition and military-style gear in Geisel's vehicle and hotel room when he was arrested. But there's no evidence he ever took steps to carry out any type of attack on Obama.
