FARMINGTON $ Unneeded baby gear, furniture, kids' clothes and toys now filling up storage space in attics and basements can be sold at the area's first kids' stuff consignment sale that opens Saturday.
The new Tykes to Teens Consignment Sale is being organized by Blessed Baby Boutique in Farmington. It will held at the Nichols Expo building on Weld Road in Wilton from Saturday to Aug. 31. Items can be dropped off this week by appointment only.
"This is the first time we are doing this. So many people ask if we sell things on consignment or they are looking for used things to buy," said Heidi MacIsaac, who started Blessed Baby now located at 155 Front Street.
The store sells products made by work-at-home moms as well as at women-owned ventures from around the world. It is also home to the Western Maine Mothers' Center.
"This is a nice way for parents to connect with each other and for families to get some money back by selling what they bought and don't need any more," MacIsaac said.
The plan is to hold a sale every fall for winter items and in the spring for summer things.
