The city of Portland plans to unveil a new welcome sign for Deering Oaks Park next week.

The sign was designed, built and donated by two local businesses, McClain Marketing Group and Mr. Signs Inc. The value of the sign is estimated at $6,500.

It will be unveiled on Tuesday, August 26, at 11 a.m. at the park's State Street entrance near the welcome center.
