The University of Maine hockey program has named Bob Corkum as an associate head coach to Tim Whitehead.

Corkum played for Maine from 1985 to 1989, scoring 56 goals and 76 assists, and played in the NHL for 12 seasons. Corkum replaces Guy Perron, who took a position with the Colorado Avalanche.

Corkum coached at Newburyport and Triton high schools in Massachusetts, with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs and the Portland Junior Pirates and with the USA Hockey Select 16 team.
