DURHAM -- A 60-year-old pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Route 125.

Gerald Gores, of Durham, was hit near Shiloh Road by a northbound Dodge Caravan on Saturday. Gores was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where he died.

Deputies from the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department are investigating the accident. Authorities say alcohol was not believed to be a factor.

The driver of the Dodge was 22-year-old Caitlyn Finch of Lisbon Falls.
