WINSLOW -- St. John Regional Catholic School will dedicate a new playground at 6:15 p.m.

The playground was made possible due largely by a gift of $25,000 from Walter Simcock in memory of his mother Mae Connors Simcock. Community members matched the grant for a total of about $50,000, Kerry Smart, a spokeswoman for the project, said.

The playground was completed earlier this month.
