Staff Report

SKOWHEGAN $ The Town of Solon will have a special town meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Solon Town Office Conference Room to decide whether to accept the house located next to the Coolidge Library as town-owned property.

The house , at 21 S. Main St., was foreclosed on by Camden National Bank and put up for auction on July 21, 2008, according to First Selectman Elaine Aloes.

The Coolidge Library Trustees were the successful bidders for the property and now the town needs to vote on accepting the property, according to Aloes, who said selectmen and the budget committee support accepting the land as town property.

Aloes said the trustees and boards see the property as a good resource for the town.
