Cumberland County officials are scheduled to meet this afternoon in South Portland to prepare for a potential crisis related to the high cost of heating oil.
The People's Regional Opportunity Program is hosting an Energy Resource Meeting at the Wyndham Hotel.
Officials will discuss the energy resources available to county residents, including the federal LIHEAP program, the United Way, the state's Keep ME Warm Fund and the 211 Maine telephone network.
Possible team activities also will be considered, such as distributing weatherization kits and checking on elderly and at-risk families.
