Another Mainer will try to outlast his fellow castaways, and gain a $1 million prize, during the upcoming fall season of the CBS hit reality show "Survivor."

Bob Crowley, 57, a physics teacher from South Portland, was listed on the CBS Web site this week as one of the 18 contestants on "Survivor: Gabon - Earth's Last Eden" which will premiere Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. It will air on Thursdays through the fall and can be seen locally on WGME (Channel 13).

No Mainer has ever won "Survivor," but others have tried. Zoe Zanidakis, a lobster boat captain from Monhegan, was on the show in 2002, followed by Julie Berry of Gorham in 2004, and Tina Scheer, owner of The Great Maine Lumberjack Show near Bar Harbor, in 2006.

Crowley could not be reached for comment Thursday morning. "Survivor" contestants are not permitted to reveal how they did on the show.
