AUGUSTA $ Mt. Blue junior Kelton Cullenberg and Maranacook freshman Abby Mace each set course records in winning the Laliberte Invitational on Friday afternoon at Cony High School.

The race is named after Scot Laliberte, a former cross country runner at Cony, who was killed in a car accident in 2000. Race organizer Tom Wells said a total of 23 schools and about 500 runners competed on Friday.

Wells said he believed Mace is the first freshman to win the Laliberte race. Cony junior Luke Fontaine finished third on the boys side.
