The Maine Community Foundation is offering grants to small and medium non-profit organizations to support rural arts programs and projects. The funding comes from the foundation's Expansion Arts Fund.

Eligible organizations must qualify for tax-exempt, non-profit status and have budgets of $250,000 or less.

In 2007, the Maine Community Foundation awarded 12 grants worth $2,000 to $5,000.

Organizations must apply for the grants by Sept. 15. Visit the foundation's Web site for more information.
