ALFRED - Richard Dalli, charged with stabbing a man to death early Tuesday morning, appeared on a murder charge in York County Superior Court in Alfred this afternoon.

He was not asked to enter a plea.

Dalli, 50, is accused of stabbing John Wheeler, 39, of Wells at 3:30 a.m. following an eight-hour party at Dalli's house at 90 Rogers Road in York.

The two had been friends for the past 10 years, police said.
