A 38-year-old Portland man is in Cumberland County jail on robbery charges following a holdup early this morning.

Police say a 22-year-old man told police he was held up at gunpoint by an acquaintance while in front of 40 Alder St.

Nobody was hurt and no shots were fired, police said.

Police found Dale Sukeforth on nearby Wilmot Street, arresting him and charging him with robbery and providing a false name.

He is being held at the county jail on $25,510 bail.
