Investigators from the state Fire Marshal's Office are seeking the cause of a fire that destroyed the metal warehouse of a wholesale florist in Hermon.

No injuries were reported in the Friday afternoon blaze that turned the Robert J. Bennett Wholesale Florist warehouse into a glowing red oven.

Firefighters from Bangor and a half-dozen towns battled the fire, while a Maine Air Guard tanker was at the site to provide water. But the building was engulfed in flames when crews arrived, and their main job was to make sure the fire didn't spread into nearby woods.
