AUGUSTA -- The state will receive $250,000 for disaster mitigation and recovery planning in the wake of severe spring flooding in northern Maine.
Gov. John Baldacci will participate in a ceremony today in which the state Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of Business Development, will accept the federal money.
The money is to help businesses plan for and recover from major disasters, according to DECD. The seven counties declared federal disaster areas this spring were Aroostook, Piscataquis, Penobscot, Somerset, Lincoln, Waldo and Knox counties.
