CHELSEA -- The town received a $1,622 dividend check from the Maine Municipal Association as result of its excellent claim experience.
Interim Town Manager Robert Drisko said the association offers three insurance related self-funded pools for municipal and quasi-public entities, the Workers Compensation Fund, the Unemployment Compensation Fund and Property & Casualty Pool.
Patricia Kablitz, director of risk management services for the association, said more than 75 percent of the program participants have received dividends this year because of their good risk management practices.
This year, she said the three pools are returning in excess of $1.5 million to their members.
