BRUNSWICK -- Brunswick Naval Air Station officials are estimating that approximately 150,000 people attended the final Great State of Maine Airshow over the weekend.

Base spokesman John James said about 50,000 people attended Saturday's show, with another 100,000 or so coming on Sunday.

James said the crowd numbers were kept down because of the threat of bad weather, in addition to this being the second year in a row for the show.

This was the final air show at the base, which is scheduled to close in 2011. The show features the Navy's Blue Angels precision flying team as well as stunt pilots, a wing walker and other flying acts.
