A Hollis man was arrested this morning on charges that he exposed himself in front of Hollis Elementary School on Route 35.

Robert Demmons, 51, is charged with indecent conduct and disorderly conduct, State Trooper Jeremy Forbes said in a news release.

Forbes said Demmons stopped his 2005 blue Dodge Dakota pick-up truck in front of the school shortly before 8 a.m. He got out of his truck naked and started masturbating in front of a young female teacher as she walked toward the school. He got back in his truck and fled.

The teacher flagged down a passing motorist, followed Demmons' pick-up truck to get his license plate number and reported it to Maine State Police, Forbes said. Troopers stopped the truck two hours later on Route 202.

Demmons is being held at the York County Jail on $5,000 cash bail pending his arraignment in Biddeford District Court on Wednesday.

Demmons is employed at a pizza shop in Waterboro, Forbes said.
