FARMINGTON - Howard's Rexall, the last independent pharmacy in Farmington, will close on Sept. 22, owners Robert and James Witt said Monday.
The brothers have sold the business to Rite-Aid, which is relocating its Farmington store less than a mile away on Main Street. The Witts will be two of the four pharmacists on staff at the new store and all their employees have been offered comparable jobs.
"It will be a seamless transition for the customers that choose to use Rite-Aid. The company has even taken over our phone numbers," Jim Witt said.
Rite-Aid opens on Sept. 19.
