Rail Trail volunteers needed

Volunteers are needed for fall clean-up efforts on the Kennebec River Rail Trail.
Four volunteer days are planned in Hallowell, Farmingdale, and Gardiner.

Officials said volunteers are needed to clean up brush, weeds, and litter. Volunteers are also asked to bring, if they have them, clippers, pruners, weed trimmers, rakes, loppers, gloves and other related items.

Volunteer days and meeting locations are: Tuesday, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hallowell municipal parking lot; Sept. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. in Farmingdale, in the parking lot north of Foggy Bottom Marina and Marina Road; Sept. 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. in south Hallowell at Greenville Street; and Sept. 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. in Gardiner at the Hannaford parking lot.
