AUGUSTA - The Board of Education meets Wednesday to hear a presentation on applying for grant funding to put two windmills at Cony High School.

Maeghan Maloney, an Augusta attorney, is scheduled to make a presentation to the board regarding her ongoing effort to apply for grant funding for the installation of two windmills on the Cony High School/Capital Area Technical Center campus. The presentation is scheduled for Wednesday's board meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Capital Area Technical Center.

Board members are also scheduled to:

• Hear a presentation from Scott Phair, director of Capital Area Technical Center, on the results of a survey of students and teachers regarding "school climate" at the technical center.

• Consider a change to the school wellness policy, eliminating language stating "fundraising activities that involve food will meet the guidelines for minimally nutritious food." Removal of that language would allow parent organizations to sell candy and other junk food during fundraising campaigns at community events.

• Consider accepting a donation of $5,000 from Robert G. Fuller Jr., of Winthrop, for a bronze, life-size statue of Daniel Cony to be placed in the foyer of Cony High School.
