Gov. John Baldacci announced Tuesday that Maine will qualify for federal disaster relief, a decision that means state and local governments can receive up to 75 percent of the cost of repairing roads and other public property.
The funds will go toward repairing damage caused by severe storms and flooding in three Maine counties # Androscoggin, Cumberland and York.
The governor said the damage occurrred between July 18 and Aug. 16. The governor estimated damages at close to $3 million.
